- Consider the opening fight scene. Comics almost always contain such scenes of violence. In fact, Marvel Comics once supposedly had a “2 fights required per comic book issue” rule. Is the fighting what prevents comics from gaining more respect and acceptance? Is the fighting essential for our enjoyment of comics? Would fighting be almost inevitable as a super powered mutant? Why?
- The X-Men fare poorly in their press appearance. Does this point to the need for a public relations team? Why?
- Emma Frost and Wolverine want to kill Rao. What’s your reaction to their “thoughful plan?” Why?
- Is there a difference between calling the mutant strain a disease and saying the mutants themselves are the disease?
- Would the government really try to eliminated/cure all mutants (all powerful ones anyway)? Would it be justified in doing so?
- Could a villainess like Emma Frost ever really change?
