- When you are working with text information, would you say it is harder to plan from scratch an effective design for the information or to reformat information that has already been placed into a design? Why?
- Do you find it easier to read a printed page or a screen of information? Why?
- When given a reading assignment, do you normally skim the document first or just begin reading from the first line? Why?
- When doing reading for school, how often would you say you take notes? To review this information, do you read the notes, reread the assigned material, or a combination of both? Why? What role do you think writing plays in helping you to understand what you are reading?
- When taking notes, do you find you simply re-copy information or do you reorganize the information (into lists or charts, etc.)? Why do you think you take notes in this fashion?
- What sort of environment do you prefer for reading? Describe a place you prefer to read and discuss issues like noise, lighting, food access, music, etc. What environmental stimuli help you read? What stimuli distract you?
