Succeeding at IUP
You might not realize it, but reaching the status of junior or senior at IUP is a real accomplishment. Most students who are not going to succeed in college drop out after their first semester. So by staying at IUP long enough to take an advanced course like English 322: Technical Writing, you’ve actually achieved something very important: you’ve learned how to survive at IUP. And along the way, you’ve gathered a lot of valuable information about how to survive. It’s that information which we’re going to tap into for this project.
IUP Information Brainstorming
During your time at IUP, you’ve actually learned hundreds of different things about life on this campus. What we need to do first is organize all these random bits of information into some broad categories. So as a group, create a list of IUP Information Categories and Sub-Topics. Below are a couple of examples:
Sample IUP Information Categories
- Category
- sub-topic
- Academics
- studying
- selecting a major
- selecting courses
- Living
- dorm living
- apartment living
Uploading Your Information Categories List to the Web
Once you have your list together, do the following:
- Select one person who can store your list in their h:wwwiup folder
- Choose Save as a Web Page and call your Information Categories List categories.htm
- Give Dr. Pagnucci the web address for your group’s list. It should be something like:
