- In the book you read, which character were you most like? (Even if you only had one or two traits in common with one character, select a character to discuss.)
- Describe how you are similar and also different from this character.
- What are two quotes from the book that you really liked or were interested in (write out the quote and include the page number)? Explain why you chose these quotes.
- Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
- What’s the central theme of the book you chose (what’s its main message)? (Even adventure books and mysteries have messages, though you might have to think harder to figure out what they are.)
- Describe the writing style used by the author of the book you read. Give two quotes (and page numbers) that help illustrate the author’s style. Some writing style elements you might discuss include:

- highly intellectual (with big vocabulary)

- graphic
- detailed
- scientific
- lots of dialogue
- plot twists
