There are lots of things in our world and our skies that we cannot explain. Rather than laugh them off as hoaxes, I encourage visitors to this page to open your minds to the possibility that we still have much to learn about our universe.

One of my favorite TV shows of all time, The X-Files followed Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) as they investigated mysterious cases for the FBI.

Pennsylvania X-Files

Pennsylvania has lots of interesting paranormal phenomena.

Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society (PBS)

• Pennsylvania ranks third in the nation for Bigfoot sightings
  • There have been many sightings at Kinzu Bridge State Park as well as the Allegheny National Forest
  • John Stoneman took pictures of 2 Bigfeet in that  area
  • Plus there is lots of fun Bigfoot swag for sale in the Kinzu Bridge State Park gift shop
• The Forest County Bigfoot Festival
  • The festival is held annually at the beginning of June (it has great food and fun for the whole family!)
  • Takes place in Marienville, PA
  • Lots of vendors, a Bigfoot 5k, and an appearance by Bigfoot in all his life-size hairy glory
  • The festival also includes a Bigfoot hunt in the Allegheny National Forest

The Kecksburg UFO

  • The festival is held annually toward the end of July (it has great food and fun for the whole family!)
  • The festival helps support the Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department
  • On December 5th, 1965 an acorn shaped UFO crashed near Kecksburg, Pennsylvania
  • Although the government later claimed it was just a meteor, for some reason the sent 2 convoys of U.S. troops in the middle of the night to look for this “meteor”
  • I’ve been to Kecksburg and it is a nice little town in the middle of nowhere, along the Chestnut Ridge foothills
  • There’s no reason the military would have had to go there in the middle of the night, except to retrieve a crashed UFO
  • There is a cool life size model of the UFO on display there, great for photo ops
  •

Stephen King

King’s books are mostly horror, but he sometimes touches on paranormal phenomena, such as in Tales from a Buick Eight, which is set in Pennsylvania.

One of King’s best short stories ever is “L.T.’s Theory of Pets,” a story which explores relationships, pet ownership, and the nature of storytelling.
