- We all knew Heide would be our new Assistant Chair, but it took administration most of the summer to send out the formal letter to her

- Dana has become the Founding Director of IUP’s Center for Scholarly Communication
- To Dan Weinstein for becoming the new Director of the IUP Kathleen Jones White Writing Center which will shift its focus fully to helping IUP undergraduate students with their writing
- Thanks also to Dan for helping Gian meet all the English majors at a welcome event we held last night!

Big Loss!
- John Marsden has formally submitted his letter of retirement
- Fall 2024 will be his last semester
- John has served multiple times as Assistant Chair of English and also has served for many years on APSCUF Legislative Assembly, among other important roles
- John is also a fantastic teacher who has always been popular with students both in English and the Cook Honors College

1. LLW Leadership Council for 2024-2025
- We need to formalize this structure for 2024-2025. We discussed at the end of Spring 2024 but neither Heide nor Gian were 100% sure we got things clear.

2. Liberal Studies
- We have been asked to select courses that could be included in the new Liberal Studies framework
3. 2024-2025 Travel Funding
- $300 for tenured faculty members
- Teaching Associates and Temporary Faculty should apply to IUP’s School of Graduate Studies and Research for travel funding
4. Student Contact Hours
- IUP is changing its nomenclature from “office hours” to “student contact hours”
5. Teaching Online
- Faculty may put up to 25% of their courses online as long as this is documented in the syllabus at the start of the semester
- The dean has requested that no faculty be giving fully online schedules except for special circumstances with the dean’s approval
6. Business Card, Signs, Etc.
