English 808: Technology & Literacy–Discussion Topic-Time Machine Version 1

Discussion: Time Travel & Technology Technology is constantly changing and because of that, our lives are constantly changing too. Because new technologies enter our world and old technologies change, we often have to learn or re-learn how we do things. But beyond the physical practicalities of trying to master all kinds of technologies, the ways we think about technology and our world also keep changing. The two clips, from The Time Machine (1960) and The Time Machine (2002), help highlight all of these issues. Here are a few discussion questions to think about as you ponder the beginnings of those two cinematic retellings of H.G. Wells’ classic book, The Time Machine.
