English 833: Theories of Composition — Reflecting on Your Teacher Scholar Journey

Your Teacher Scholar Journey So Far

I hope you’ve had a good semester. I know I have enjoyed spending time learning with you. Before we finish, I want you to take a little time to reflect upon the journey you’ve begun.

Write a Reflection

I would like you to write a 1 page reflection thinking about how you have grown as a teacher scholar this semester. You may hand write this reflection or type it. Start by writing the following items at the top of the page:

  • The Start of My Teacher Scholar Journey (or a similar title of your choice)
  • Your name
  • Today’s date

Then please write about the following items:

  • Who were you when began the CAL Doctoral Program at IUP?
  • We covered a lot of things in the course. What was something that really spoke to you from all the ideas we discussed, read, and experienced? Why was that idea important to you?
  • What have you learned about yourself as a student and a teacher during this semester? Who are you today?
  • How will the things you’ve learned this semester impact your future teacher scholar journey?

Complete Your Reflection

After you are done writing, set your reflection aside. Then write your name and preferred mailing address on the IUP English envelope with which you have been provided. Finally, place your reflection inside the envelope.

Please do NOT seal the envelope. After the course is done and the grades are turned in, I will take a look at your reflection. I will then put your reflection back in its envelope and mail it to you so that you can have it to make

Good Luck

I look forward to hearing your thoughts about the start of your Teacher Scholar Journey. And I sincerely hope that your journey leads to the successful completion of your Ph.D.
