Assignment
Once your department has decided what type of article will suit your department’s needs, your next task is to write an article for the Team Project. Decide as a department who will write about which topics.
Article Types
Your article should provide basic information about how to succeed in college, particularly at IUP. Your article should be one of these three types:
- Instructional (explain how to do X at IUP)
- For example: A How to Pick a Major Article–What majors are there? How do I pick one? A real world story of how you picked your own major. How will I know if I’ve followed your instructions correctly?
- Descriptive (explain where something is located)
- For example: A Computer Labs Article–Where are the public computer labs located at IUP? What’s in the labs? What are the lab policies?
- Informative (explain what information a student needs to have about a particular topic)
- For example: A First Year Class Selection Article–Which classes should a new IUP student take? Why? What will they be like?
Article Parameters
Your article should be:
- about 2 pages in length
- typed, double-spaced
- saved on a disk or uploaded to your h:wwwiup folder
Uploading Your Team Project Article to the Web
Once you have your list together, do the following:
- Select one person who can store your list in their h:wwwiup folder
- Choose Save as a Web Page and call your Team Project Article article.htm
- Give Dr. Pagnucci the web address for your group’s list. It should be something like:
- http://www.people.iup.edu/xxxx/article.htm
