Research on how people learn and recall new concepts and ideas has helped identify at least three basic principles for improve people’s processing of information:
- Chunking–group similar types of information to make it more manageable
- Queuing–show relationships among information (show hierarchy): show what is most important, what is least important
- Filtering–sort special types of information to help readers filter what they read
