Dear IUP PRESIDENT,
I am sending you a report that I think you will like. It was a class assignment. I looked at the safety signs in one of the buildings on campus, they are very poor. I also asked some students if they had seen the signs. Most of them hadn’t. OSHA regulations specify that signs must be 12” x 15” in size, posted on each floor, and they must be made with red and yellow colors. If you are planning on getting some new signs I would say that you should. Some other problems were information on the signs. This was not accurate. A lot of changes have taken place in the buildings and now the signs are getting out of date it seems to me. And a lot of the signs are kind of fading, they are hard to read. I also found out that there have been some accidents in the building and the report that the fire dept. did backs up some of the other things I found out. “Evacuation times were at 67.2% efficiency rating, with study error margin of +/- 3%. Subject escape knowledge rating = 7. Langler rating scale. Escape knowledge levels 1-16 indicate types of user awareness.” That pretty much sums up my report.
