Presentation Requirements
Give a 10-15 minute Power Point presentation of the ideas in your Comp Theory Paper.
You may cover whatever you feel is appropriate for your presentation. Here are things that most presenters typically cover:
- Introduce your topic
- Discuss the problem your presentation addresses
- Discuss the current literature out of which your problem emerges
- Discuss the theory you have used to understand this problem
- Cite a few sources that explain the theory you are using
- Discuss how you think composition studies should address this problem
- This could be a new pedagogical approach
- Make a call for future research
- Discuss what research/work will need to come as a follow up to your paper
Please make your presentation as engaging as possible. You are welcome to include short audio or video clips as part of the presentation.
Presentation Handout Requirements
Please prepare a handout to give out before your presentation. Please make enough copies of the handout for the entire class, including the instructor (about 12). Your handout should include the foll0wing information:
- Presentation Title
- Your Name
- Your Email Address
- Presentation Date
- Paper Overview–brief description of the paper
- Paper References–list 3 sources related to your paper topic
- Paper Theory–brief overview of your primary theory (1 paragraph)
- Theory References–List 1-3 sources related to your theory
