The Battle of Tarnantia has been long and hard. But after much fighting, the Avengers and the Guardians seem to be winning. Then a dark shadow drops over the city from above. You look up to see a massive black spaceship hovering overhead.
“Oh boy,” says Rocket. “This ain’t good.”
“What is that?” you ask.
“That is the warship of Ronan the Accuser, an evil Kree Warlord.”
“And he looks like he means business,” says Starlord.
“He doesn’t look that tough,” says Iron Man. “Come on, Thor and Captain Marvel, let’s take him out.”
But as the three heroes fly toward the ship, a bright purple beam flashes out and strikes the heroes. They both fall to the ground unconscious.
“That realllllly ain’t good,” says Rocket.
“What now?” asks Starlord.
Gamora whirls her sword. “I know what Ronan needs.”
The purple beam flashes from the ship again. It strikes a building blasting it to pieces. You hear screams.
“I don’t think you’re going to get the chance to use your sword, Gamora,” says Starlord.
The purple beam flashes out again and again. You hear more explosions and screams. All around you people are hurt, dying.
Suddenly you feel your medallion begin to pulse, stronger and stronger, as if responding to all that pain and suffering. You have to do something.
You pull off the medallion. It is glowing bright blue in your hand, the brightest blue you have ever seen. Using all your strength, you hurl the medallion toward the spaceship. The medallion turns into a blue ball of energy as it rises, becoming brighter and brighter until you can no longer look at it. Then there is a giant explosion and everything goes black…
